Saw VII was aite.

Rating: Almost awesome.
Pro: Ended with a mega-twist, just like all the other Saw's.
Con: Too much blood, just like all the other Saw's.

Just recently watched Saw VII, the so-called "Final Chapter". I'm sure they're gonna find another twist to make another movie on :D

Anyways, it was alright, still bloody and twisted as always. I was hoping that whole public scene was longer but it was only at the beginning.

I'd totally recommend this movie, though, for those who liked Saw I and II, when the blood and the story's balanced out. Plus, you see a lot of the characters from the previous ones as well ;)

The Rite: Unlike the other exorcism movies, this one might be awesome

Before you say anything or make any assumptions about this movie, this is NOT like the other exorcism movies. I know, right? The other exorcism/possessed-by-crazy-demon-related movies sucked, except for maybe "The Exorcist" of 1973. That one was okay even with the low bar set for movies before the 90s. I have no idea why it's classified as the classic "scariest movie of all times". But anyways, "The Rite" approaches the whole controversial possession/exorcism from a different direction: the devil himself (herself? no idea :S). Honestly speaking, I can't really say that this might be a good movie, let along an awesome one. I mean, exorcism movies always have really wicked trailers but the best parts of the movie were the scenes we see in the wicked trailers. The rest is just suspense building up to the possessed character either doing a bridge on the ceiling or puking all over. But hey, new direction = breakthrough? Who knows. Oh and plus, this movie's got "Academy Award Winner Anthony Hopkins who starred in "Beowulf", "The Wolfman", and will be ownin' in the upcoming "Thor"! But more on that later ;) A must-watch movie? Meh, up to you. I wouldn't highly recommend this one. Definitely check out the trailer above though. Like I said, exorcism movies have wicked trailers ;D

Also, to my small but awesome audience: BRB. I have planned a few awesome things for this awesome blog and decided to expand it to a more awesome network. I will still be posting up awesome movies but the extremely awesome movie I planned on releasing on the awesome 10th post won't be here till after the awesome changes take place. Don't worry, it won't be out for a while so you ain't missing out. Holla if you're psyched for the new look, direction, and more awesome posts! :D

Saw 3D: as if Saw isn't gut-wrenching enough already, this one's in 3D

Honestly, Saw III, V, and VI were really bad. Saw III lacked storyline and was nothing but bloody from the start. I mean, really? First half-hour and three (or more, I'm not too sure) people dead already? If you haven't seen it, well, I didn't spoil much for you. If you are planning to watch any of the Saw movies though, and definitely this upcoming Saw 3D, I'd watch them all because even though some of them sucked, the overall storyline is actually pretty awesome, sick, but awesome nevertheless. I wasn't actually planning on even watching the trailer for this movie but 15 seconds into it and I was all psyched. Yeah, you'll see what I mean. INTENSE. The poster looks pretty cool too. Check it out, and be sure to follow this blog :)

Oh and about the trailer, the one thing I hated was the whole "Hey look people, our 3D is so real, it's like we're interacting with the audience!" It really grinds my gears when people do that in promos. When are they gonna realize that that's just annoying and amateur?

Paranormal Activty 2: didn't see that coming

So... apparently, Paramount Pictures thought that Paranormal Activity was so popular that they're working with DreamWorks AND hired a more expensive director to film the sequel. In case you haven't seen it, Paranormal Activity was about this newly-wedded couple being haunted by a demon that you never got to see, only hear. Yeah... enough said. I mean, it was a good movie for a random, and I mean really, random thrill/scare. The acting was exceptionally well done but the storyline was a tad empty. The two main characters/actors, Katie Featherston and Micah Sloat, will both be back for this sequel. I don't see how that's gonna work but I'm not gonna get into that, don't wanna spoil it for ya ;) It got some mixed reviews as well. I enjoyed it the first time. The time was just, meh. Anyways, the trailer looks pretty cool and looks way better than the first. Well, this project's got wayyy more budget and time than the first that's for sure, which was around 15K and filmed in a week :S This movie's definitely gonna give you the thrill you crave this winter. I have to admit though, introducing a baby and a dog into a supernatural movie is kinda new and does seem pretty freaking cool ;) Due for release on October 22nd of this year in the United States, the release date for Canada is still unknown but it shouldn't be long after that.
